Euthanasia Services for Pets

A compassionate and humane choice to alleviate your pet's suffering.

There’s no easy way to consider saying a final goodbye to your dog or cat. Regardless of their health status, it can be difficult to contemplate peacefully ending your dog or cat’s life. Our veterinary team will support you with your decision-making process, as you consider what’s best for your family and beloved cat or dog.

How should I handle my grief?

There is no right or wrong way to process the loss of your dog or cat. Whether or not you were anticipating the end of their life soon, nothing fully prepares you for how you could respond at the moment. The most important thing to remember is that you are not alone during the process. Before you make your final decision to euthanize your dog or cat, we’ll assess their overall health and provide our medical advice about what could be best for them. If our recommendation is euthanasia, you still ultimately have the final say. We will support you in selecting the best time for the procedure and what to do with their remains.

How do I make the right decision?

As you consider your options, it’s important to reflect on how your dog or cat’s quality of life is being impacted by the health condition. For example, is your dog or cat able to move around your home with limited assistance? Do they seem to have quite a few “bad days” in a row? Is it difficult to remember the last time they seemed like themselves? These types of questions help you determine if their health status is negatively impacting their daily life. Based on your interactions with your dog or cat, since you know them best, you can determine if their pain or injury is limiting their ability to live a full and happy life.

If you have questions about euthanasia or would like more information, please contact our team at 905-571-3700.
