Dr. Cheryl Birss


Cheryl graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2004 and joined the team at Baker Animal Clinic soon after. She grew up in Whitby and was thrilled to return home. Her high school co-op was completed at Baker Animal Clinic, and it was at this time that her decision to become a vet was solidified. Cheryl became a partner in the practice in 2008. Cheryl enjoys all aspect of veterinary medicine, especially being able to get to know our clients and their pets.
Cheryl is the past President of the Toronto Academy of Veterinary Medicine (TAVM) and a past director of the Ontario Veterinary Medical association. She currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Farley Foundation, a wonderful Ontario Charity that helps a large number of pets (www.farleyfoundation.org). She loves continuing education and feels it is vital to keeping current with new developments in veterinary medicine.
She spends her free time hiking, biking and loves summers at the cottage. Cheryl has two dogs – Morgan, a Chocolate Lab and Georgia, a Boston Terrier. Georgia was adopted through Boston Terrier Rescue of Canada, a rescue organization that Baker Animal Clinic works closely with. She has 3 cats that rule her household – Wilson, Thai and Keely.
