I have loved animals for as long as I can remember. I’ve never not had a cat (or couple) around since I was born. Friends even remember our household always caring for some sort of hurt or orphaned animal. I definitely get my love for them from my mum. It’s no surprise I decided to dedicate my life to animals.
Following high school, I went to Sheridan for Animal Care and graduated in ‘04. I started at Baker Animal Clinic in August of the same year.
Over the years I have developed a strong interest in rehabilitation/pain management in aging pets. My own rescued pit bull, Malakai, went to rehab in his 12th year after noticing he was walking differently. With simple home exercises and massage, he was a completely different dog and continued hiking until he was nearly 16! I have since rescued another dog who has peeked my interest in dog behaviour and training as I try my best to help her overcome some fear related issues. In everything I do I strive to do it as fear free as possible for the pet.
A fun fact about me is I love creepy crawlies just as much as the cute cuddly kind. You’ll often find me hiking and camping on my time off looking for cool little critters, spiders being my favourite.
